13th January 2021
Dear Yass Music Club Members,
An exciting concert series for Members of the Yass Music Club begins in a month today, Saturday 13th February!
The Yass Community has remained safe in 2020 which is a great credit to all of us complying to NSW Government Guidelines when it has been required for us to do so.
Our first concert, the world famous Australian composer Elena Kats Chernin with Tamara Cislowska,
“Four Hands on Piano”. I have no doubt Elena will be regarded as one of the greatest composers in our lifetime and their performance of her recent compositions will be brilliant and memorable with Tamara an immensely talented concert pianist. Both performed for the club in the opening season of 2019.
Covid19 requirements for our concerts in 2021 will not be too bad if we all comply!
Covid19 will remain a major concern for the Yass Music Club in 2021 with a very strict management of attendees to safe guard our members as the guidelines are set in place by the NSW Government.
These guidelines in place now may vary with lighter restrictions if Covid19 is contained with the vaccine programme being rolled out in 2021.
Only members will be able to attend our concerts in 2021, no guests will be allowed to join us due to our restriction of numbers in the Yass Memorial Hall , strictly membership only for the entire year.
All our members will have to RSVP to attend each concert, this will help the club comply with our NSW Government QR code requirements, our QR code we have to apply for – for each concert during 2021.
RSVP clearly identifies each person attending our concert and it also assists us in plating up food which will be covered in a plastic film for each person’s safety and to be Covid19 compliant .
Contrary to what we see in theatres and on TV, the Yass Memorial Hall is rated as a public hall which means in the NSW Government guidelines that no one can sit beside one another, disregarding the fact that you may have travelled together in a car or live at home as a couple or as a family.
The NSW Government guidelines as advised to me by Yass Valley Council, every person has to sit 2 metres apart, not one person can sit beside another person at any point in time. Anyone not complying to this NSW Government requirement may cause all our concerts to be cancelled this year if we can not obey these rules as music club members. Anyone who insists in sitting with another person side by side will have to be asked to leave the building and the concert.
In the main hall only 98 music club members, 18 people up in the gallery, 18 people in the northern annex sitting in the doorways opening into the main hall so members can see the stage, the same on the supper room side of the hall restricted to 12, allowing 146 members of the Yass Music Club to attend each concert. There may be room for more people in the supper room if required.
We request that each club member carry their own individual mask, masks will be for sale upon entry for all members to comply.
All members will be required to enter through the main foyer entrance to the Yass Memorial Hall from Comur Street.
We ask that our members queuing outside the hall do so in an orderly manner, if you choose to be talking to others please wear a mask.
Upon entry your programmes will be provided to you with a temperature check for each member, then a committee member will show you to your chair.
At this first concert no supper will be served, only a bottle of water to each person upon arrival, we apologise for this but we need to safely control the movements of all club members to work out logistics for future concerts. If you require food at brief intervals during the concert please bring this with you.
We ask that each person stay in their seat unless you require a toilet which in itself the toilets in the Yass Memorial Hall can only have limited patrons in at any point in time. Proceeding to the toilet, whilst in the bathroom area and returning to your seat, any moving around the hall mask wearing will be required.
I realise this all seems to be over the top but it is for the safety of all Yass Music Club Members, we have to assume that Covid19 may be present anytime in any place in the Yass Memorial Hall during 2021.
Please use hand sanitisers at every opportunity. These will be provided around the hall at all entrances.
The Yass Music Club financially remains in a sound position. You will be pleased to know that the Yass Music Club donated substantial money to all the performers we had booked in 2020 to help these artists in their colossal loss of income.
All RSVP’S please send by email to me peter@petercrisp.com.au or
by text or voice mail to my mobile number 0427 488373.
As President and on behalf of our Yass Music Club Committee I would like to welcome you all to a wonderful year of fine music, lets make the most of what is our new normal during this pandemic which could remain with us possibly for the next few years.
If you would like any further assistance contact our Treasurer, Edgar Mongan on edgarmongan@ozemail.com.au or phone Brian Millett on 62263514 .
Very best wishes from the Yass Music Club,
